The Redwoods are a beautiful type of tree that reach hundreds of feet into the sky, branching off like flowers while blooming, casting a great shadow upon the floor of the forest. Imagine yourself: Sitting in the middle of a grassy field, surrounded by these giant trees. You hear a subtle melody in the background. A flute. The flute is soon joined by an ensemble of instruments, ranging from the trumpet to the Vibraphone. The melody is gorgeous, and perfectly fits the tone of the environment: Soothing, yet triumphant. This is the feeling I am trying to capture with my latest score: Exploring the Redwoods. This will be the first score that is completely original (Not based off of anything), so it will be a huge accomplishment for me. It will be for a full concert band, consisting of over 20 instruments. The opening (Of which I started this morning), begins with the steady beat of a drum, along with chords of the entire low brass. In the main melody, two flutes play, luring the audience into the greater melody of the high brass and woodwinds. The goal for this project is for me to finish it by September 1st, 2016. Whether I make that goal or not, is dependent on how much time I have to work on it (Of course). The main point of me saying this is: I'm not going to be too active on BC anymore. This is not a goodbye thread. Don't click off this tab now saying "Ugh! This again. We know he's just coming back tomorrow!" Which is true. I will come back tomorrow. This thread is just saying that time have changed, and my activity will begin to dwindle. Anyways, I assume you're probably asking "Why do we need to know this? Why did you have to make a thread about this?". Well, the truth is that I want your opinion. I will regularly update this thread with the latest updates from the music, and I would like to ask if you like them or not. If you don't like an update, feel like they shouldn't change, feel they should, etc. The point of this thread is to hear your opinion.
