Congratulations from the cow. First off, welcome back dusty and razer. May you do good work again. Also, welcome and congrats to Gleba. While he hasn't been on the server long, he made a really really good app. I hope he will do wellZ. So congrats to everyone l.

 

Ok, but really though, Alkaline maybe? That guy has never not shown immaturity, maybe he would have been a better choice if it were to come down to maturity as your pointing out, not only that, but also having a more general idea on where he stands, who he is, and what he could potentially do to help this server and its members. Now don't get me wrong, I don't at all mind who it was to become the new moderators just to be clear. But someone you don't even really know? That's a questionable move in my opinion. I don't mean any disrespect to Gleba at all, I'm hopeful he will become as good of a moderator that the current staff apparently believe's he will be. Take note that I didn't vote for Alkaline and not trying to defend him or anything, just stressing the fact that maybe there were more viable choices to be considered first. Regardless of what I say though, Congrats to the new staff members, I hope to see good things come from these 3 new moderators. Again congrats and I hope for the best.

I understand some people's frustrations but this was probably one of the most difficult choices the staff have ever made; it was definitely one of the most difficult scenarios regarding staff I've come across, because it was so close.

We took the election very seriously; former staff received a majority of the votes cast, so it only made sense that a majority of the staff places were given to former staff. It's called democracy, and it's what the community voted for.

We saw a very strong 'anti-former-staff' feeling that a minority had been spreading, and we tried to accommodate this, which was one of the most difficult decisions. Applications were all judged individually and comparatively and that was also how we reached our decision.

I feel like the choices we made were correct, fair and relevant. I find it disappointing when people - and this was a very small number of people - reject our decision and stick resolutely to their own opinion, because they believe without a shadow of a doubt that they are the ones who are right. We will not change the community's decision.

We all love democracy, until the people we like don't win.

I would like to also take this moment to personally congratulate Razer, Dusty & Gleba on becoming staff; I believe they will be fantastic staff members.

If anyone feels what I said was unfair, you can take it up with me further if you so wish.

It's scary, to be honest. In my term as staff I've seen a lot of people come and go including 2 of our new mods, but since I know you people are competitive *cough* Dusty Razer *cough*, I present to you a challenge. If you guys can stay staff for longer than my term thus far (including the rest Of the time that I continue to be staff), I will admit that Dusty is a better staff member than I, that Razer is even more radical than he already is, and that Gleba is by far one of the most mature members I have ever seen (but that's obvious ;p). Congrats guys!! Welcome back Dusty and Razer <3 and Goodluck to Gleba's first entrance to the staff world xD

 

You guys please, Imo, ok, again I'm trying to be as polite and respectful as possible to what I Have to say is a very unusual situation, but the reasoning from the "maturity" factor for picking Gleba is not making any sense at all. In the application it even says that he's not very talkative, so how do we or did staff actually know how mature he really was. I talked to him for maybe 30min. total and I know people may have talked to him more but, ok 5 days? Which how much did each person really talk to Gleba. I'm on a lot and I never really have seen Gleba talk, which there's nothing wrong with him not talking that's cool, but it doesn't explain what everyone keeps referring to as a reason as to why he was chosen. There were several members that I had seen apply that everyone actually had some idea of who they really are. Theres several other factors, like being reasonable, understanding, etc. Because we actually know them. I know people or staff may get frustrated at me for having keep this open or to say this, but I honestly am very curious and more confused to this choice that was made. Really though, saying he is mature not only makes it even more confusing but doesn't really explain why it is you choose some random person that jumps into the server one week and then starts applying at random and in turn staff hands this person all these powers that could potentially cause harm for others if abused. You can't tell me you don't see where I'm coming from with this.. ( Gleba <3 I'm sorry if I'm sounding like I'm not being respectful towards you, I really don't mean to be disrespectful at all, I'm really also hoping your also seeing where it is I'm coming from on this. So pls don't get me wrong, I do hope for the best not only for you, but also from you xD, it is nothing against you ok. ) Its not my place to question staffs choice nor is it staffs obligation to even have to explain there choice towards Gleba. I'm a person when I see something that's out of place, I'm not going to "beat around the bush" or "cut corners", I'm going to call it straight out, it's just who I am. I'm pretty sure theres several others that are confused towards the whole maturity reasoning, that's really not making very much sense at all in this situation. Sorry if this causes a headache, Which Again, I know you don't have to explain this choice that was made at all, I just hope that maybe some clarity can be given as to why that it was made. and not just saying hes mature. Forgive me Gleba and staff but I'm pretty sure that many others are wondering this exact same thing so even though you don't have to explain it more, It would really be appreciated if you did. I <3 this place and its community. to which it is the only reason that I'm actually concerned.

Your not at all hated Gleba, that's not my intentions at all . We just are confused about whats going on because we really have no idea who you are or how this even is possible because of the fact only a couple ppl have talked to you here and there. I'm sorry on how it may seem, but <3 its not you or anything, I just don't get there reasoning. I'm sry

I understand you don't hate me but people give off that idea. I get you're also confused but I'm definitely not the first person to obtain mod who's considerably unknown. It's possible however due to their opinion. I'm not being rude entirely but there must be a reason why others weren't picked over myself. I've looked over the applications and they're lacking in some places, however some aren't but the admins choice was to try and have a variety and due to me not knowing anyone creates me to not be biased towards anyone. Just because nobody knows me doesn't mean I'm not suited, you can use the argument that the admins wont know me but however but I've known Phoenix before BC and Kellie as well. Moderator shouldn't be a position that people should obtain through popularity, expenditure towards the server it's a position that's brought to try and maintain the server's rules.

 

I dont think this has anything to do with you personally Gleba. Just the weird way this all happened and the weird reasons and explanations. This whole ordeal probably wont impact the server at all.
Personally I can't really judge the current/new mods cause I never speak to them nor them to me but I agree with kyle on this one. Things are sounding fishy here but maybe thats just because everything hasnt been communicated to us properly.

The thing I was struggeling with was that I though I would never be appoointed mod because I was a new member (only 2 months) and noboy would be voting for me. And here comes this new guy who is elected in the 5 short days he has been on here. This can all be true, but things like these should have rules. About who can apply or not. "maturity" isnt the holy grail of mods. You can be mature and never actually be a part of the community, in my opinion a mod should be someone who likes to chat to other players more than other things e.g be social. And I have seen mods who completely ignore my questions and greetings.
Everybody can write a jaw dropping perfect application, but that doesnt mean it will work in practice.

I have been trough a lot of situations like this and we can't make everyone happy when things like this happen. But one thing that would be awesome in my opinion is that someone could post the votes on this server? That way we can all see who got the most votes. A democracy isnt a democracy if the people who organise something like this wont show the results. I don't know all of you well enough to trust you on your word.

Maybe they are great mods, and I dont intend to belittle them by means of this post (like I said, I dont know you guys well enough). I just wanted to say what was on my mind just like Kyle did, and thats these what forums are made for.
This server has so much potential, but some things are only half of what they should be. I don't care about the past. Just dont let it go to waste.

Anyway, congrats to the three new mods. I already did on the server but I got no response.
