Buildcraftia's Staff

To start I want to clarify this is my opinion, and I don't want it to sound rude in any way to any player, but that may be the way it looks to you. I know what I'm saying, and I've thought about it for a while.

Introductory Statements
As all of you know we have 3 teirs of staff on this server.

All of these staff are wonderful and great to us.

But they could be distributed better.

I know that keeping power balanced is very important (and I'm no expert on the matter), but right now, we rarely have the staff we need to complete an operation that may need assistance.
Owners
Now we have "4" Owner rank members: MacMeBenny, ItsAzza, Quicksteve, and Jessiieee.
This is fair and balanced. Now we get to the problem.
Admins
We have 1 admin. One. I believe we could have maybe 3 or 4 admins to better staff the server. Of course it will take time for some current mods to prove themselves, but some already have. DustyAshton is a wonderful staff member, she is very serious when she needs to be, but also has good player relationships. I believe we should promote her to the rank of admin if the owners see it fit.

Also, SantaMiner is very responsible and has good player relations, he would make a good admin after he proves himself after a month, perhaps month and a half more of being a moderator.
Moderators
Now previously we had 9 moderators (Before Jeremy left). Not to seem rude, but its time to give some of them the chop.

TemporarilyAlone hasn't been on for 2 weeks, he is really nice, but I believe he isn't fit to moderate BuildCraftia anymore. This is due to the amount of time he spends on the server, which is little.

Now I know everyone has their own things to do in life, but if you are really busy you shouldn't be committed to something that will stress you out even more.

Also PhoenixStudios is pretty inactive, but not too bad. I say we leave him on for a little while longer, and if it gets worse, demote him back to MVP.
Closing Statements
If all of this changes, we will have 3 moderators left, which is not enough.
5-6 moderators would be a good number.

We need a new moderator election is my point.

We need a Winter 2016 Moderator Election sometime in January or February.

Please remember, this is my opinions and my thoughts. All the staff are wonderful people, but it's time to move 'em around. This would make good progression for the server, and the whole network.

No, you require one more admin. (S)he should be a good builder, to be active, and also be respectful.

 

You just like the title of being the one and only admin XD

But I must agree that the arrangement of staff needs a slight adjustment. I'm not saying we necessaryily need to move staff around, but we need a good team of active staff members.

Agreed that some staff are being held for sentimental value. Not that they aren't good they just don't serve the purpose they once did.

But in all seriousness, I do agree with the sentiment of dropping some of the inactive staff.

 

I say dusty fits that discription fairly well

 

In my opinion we should demote temp because I feel like him becoming a mod was unfair because when Mac offered him the owner rank and he turned it down but when the mod applications rolled out he was accepted and the only reason I see for that is him being an old staff who came back and Mac wants in the staff team. Also the ban report on temp when he built like 50 dicks was unfair as well as he only got a warning because he's staff. The real punishment should have been him being demoted or banned from the server.
Dusty should in fact be promoted to admin I 100% agree with that.
However I believe as Mac is the founder of the server he should be online more often. What I'm saying is AZZA is in the military and he still comes on yet Mac has a normal life and he is barely on. I do agree about the January 2016 Mod Applications because half the mods don't come on often enough or quit.
Overall the rest of the staff team in my opinion is doing fine.

 

If we're going to be organizing mod noms/apps, I believe we should do a mod 'campaign' of sorts. It's a system Quickie thought up a while ago but never really got into effect. It's really simple , those who want to be nominated for mod need to make a thread about themselves, why they should be elected,... but without format or anything. So if you're gonna vote , you'll be reading all those campaigns and will have to decide who you think will be best and vote on that guy.
So it's a kind of mix between apps and noms, and I believe it would work very well.

 

Not saying we shouldn't lay of Kenreao, but at least he is one once a week or perhaps bi-weekly for 10/20 minutes.
Don't demote Mac, because he'll come back and explode with anger and it might cause the end of the server

 

I would just like to add that some staff members may not want to be promoted due to current life reasons. Understandably, I'm sure we all know it's DustyAshton I'm referencing.

I believe that more active users should be picked because we know if they would be reliable as staff, and how they act on a day-to-day basis.

 

I remember the good old days of BC when if you even mentioned staff or mod noms you would instantly lose all chances, and it wasn't such a public thing. The staff nommed people and voted and then one day that person would just show up with a blue name.

Mac should no longer be owner (although the funeral for him is coming up)

Ken and temp bye bye (sorry loves)

Phoenix stays as he really provides a sort of elder type aspect to the staff team. Easily one of the best staff members, just isn't on to much.


Dusty for admin (she's been staff for a long time and is quite active)

As dumb as it sounds, I really don't think Mac is deserving of his owner rank anymore, so I'm gonna have to agree with Jeremy and/or Word. Both AZZA and Quicksteve are grown men with occupations and have done more for the server in 2 months than Mac has commited for the past half year. I realize he has a social life, for I have one too and realize it is important to balance that out with your internet life, but his inactivity is causing me to interpret that he doesn't really care. For a long time I've considered BC more of Quick's server than Mac. Maybe I'm really off with my facts here, maybe he has some serious issues he has to deal with, but he seems quite uninterested and not a help in any way as of now, and that's not a very ideal mindset for someone who spent 4 years trying to hold up this server. Again I could be unaware of something bigger happening, but I have my doubts that that is the case.

Also pointing out problems for when he's online:
*He afks constantly, not even to code or anything of that nature from my perspective
*Very obvious favoritism and prioritizing his favorites
*Ranting at people like me who give constructive criticism and take it as an insult.

^Before you even question me for those last two bullet points, note I have like a dozen retired staff colleagues from the Arcadia/early New BC generation of staff that have the same exact points of view.
