Sure, you can be proud. By pride, it means that you're better than everyone else, superiority. failing to applaud others for their accomplishments, and just being plain selfish. It's all about you. Being proud for nationalities, and your accomplishments, your children, are all things that are fine.
Just don't be selfish with it. Pride is the source of all sin, so it is included with the list of 7 Deadly Sins. One of them being greed, starting with pride, they want to be the superior, so once they reach that in their minds, they will want more. And more. And another one. Another one. Another one. Greed. Pride. It's the start.
