HA HA HA HA HA wait no... losing an electron would be an ionic bond but hydrogen is a non metal and they are not different elements making it a molecule...

Incorrect, TNT. Hydrogen is a metal, while not being a non-metal. It is on the side of the periodic table where the metals are. As far as the Science community is concerned, hydrogen is a metal, regardless of the actual state Hydrogen is at 0 degrees Celsius.

HYDROGEN IS IN GROUP 1 BECAUSE IT HAS 1 ELECTRON. NOT BECAUSE IT'S A METAL.

my logic is very bad bc I'm younger but when an atom loses an electron doesn't it become a "positive" ion?

Yes because the amount of protons and electrons are imbalanced making it positive. If an atom gains an electron, then it becomes negative.

TNT, the amount of electrons means nothing upon where an element stands on a periodici table. However, the amount of valence electrons do. Needless to say, hydrogen is still considered as a "metal" in the chemistry communities.

It just so happens that at 0 Degrees Celsius, hydrogen is in the form of gas. Every other feature though is the exact same as a metal. TNT, also, let me remind you that while you are in Grade 7, I am in Grade 10 and am currently studying Chemistry in science. There is no point to argue.
