Since I've switched back to Windows ages ago, here's my updated desktop that I made with Rainmeter. Recently was playing around with color variables and managed to get my Rainmeter theme to match the rest of the system much better.

You know how you said you got rainmeter to open automatically when your laptop restarted? How did you do that, I can't find the setting or anything in the ini files.

    1. Press Windows+R and type in
    Code:
    shell:startup
    2. Then, in a different window, find the Rainmeter.exe inside program files, and make a Shortcut.
    3. Copy that shortcut file to the Startup folder that appeared when you ran that first command.

Actually, for $1,299, that's not a bad price for a laptop. Considering you don't need to get any anti-virus, and it's made of aluminum. It also has PCI-e flash storage, which is extremely fast. The Iris Pro graphics can run many games fairly well, as it's on-par with the NVIDIA GT 820m, and 8GB RAM is nice. The thing is, with Macs, you're paying for quality, not performance. Mac laptops last ages, and usually don't start slowing down after a while. Sure, they aren't made for gaming, but they're pretty good for what games do work with Mac.

But you could practically get the same exact performance with a windows 2-in-1 for only $500 dollars, or an HP Envy for $900. I know that it wouldn't be the same thing as a Macbook Pro, but if you really want a good laptop, don't get a MacBook, it isn't worth it. Plus if you're a gamer, you really want performance over quality, but you want the computer to last, and that's where the Macs abilities ends. I don't understand why people buy $1500 Apple MacBooks when they could get pretty similar things by spending half that, but that's just my opinion. #MacBooksvsLaptops

A $500 laptop can NOT get the same performance as a $1,200 MacBook. A $500 laptop will get you a Pentium, with Intel HD graphics... which is nothing compared to Iris Pro. Also, many gamers do want quality as well... because they probably don't want their rig breaking down mid-battle. Also, the equivalent HP Envy is about $1,150, $150 cheaper than the MacBook. The internal wireless on it isn't even Dual band, and the display is far inferior.

EDIT: Also, the HP looks to be made of plastic... .-.

Yes, it can. No one wants to spend $1500-$2000 to buy a MacBook Pro that when it is dropped, your screwed over, mainly because Apple traded durability for quality, which means you either have to pay for a brand NEW MacBook, which is $3000 total for 2 of the same thing, or get a different laptop to save you money. Plus, with a 2800x1800 screen resolution for a 15 inch laptop, its gonna seriously suck up the battery, especially if your playing CPU-heavy games. Why do you need such a high screen resolution? Your saying that you would get what you pay for with an Apple MacBook Pro, when if you really want a good laptop, you don't need the world record for the highest screen resolution for a laptop, when you could get a laptop similar to Kash's, and get 150 fps practically. If you "don't want your rig to break down mid-battle", I don't know why you would be using a mac when there are WAY more affordable laptops with not as great screen resolutions, but better graphics and cpu performance. But your not looking so much for high resolution screens than for usefulness. Yes, you can get a laptop that can perform just as good as macbook pros, at a fraction of the price.

    1) Drop any laptop and your screwed, with the exception of like, netbooks.
    2) That's why you have a big battery, 9 hours with constant general usage. Also, CPU heavy games kill the battery of any laptop, high resolution or not.
    3) You are over-bloating the price constantly. It's not "$1,500 to $2,000", it's $1,299.
    4) It's not "world record" highest resolution, 1080p is not a good standard, it's getting outdated. It just so happens that Apple is making higher resolution laptops before most people. Other company's are already making 4K laptops.
    5) What I meant by break down is if you have really crappy hardware, but a powerful CPU and GPU, anything could fail easily.
    6) High resolution screens are useful for graphic designers and 3D artists.
    7) Maybe you could get more performance for that price, however, they may lack in other things, such as dual-band wireless, an SSD, or other features that "budget" laptop company often cheap out on.

I actually am not really an Apple fan, nor have I really ever owned a Mac myself, I just am tired of the "way too overpriced" excuse. XD
