Suggestions for 1.10/1.9 Hey guys. So in light of the recent update for 1.10, there are so many new features and possibilities for everything on the server. So i’d thought now's the time to share some i’ve been thinking of for the server. Please note, i’m writing this rather quickly so ignore if some of the wording is off, and or, repetitive. Cows were never made to be authors. -=- Survival -=- For survival, I think now would be the time to reset the world. The current world has been in place for about a year now (give or take), and has been vastly depleted in many spots of its resources. Beyond this, the new features from 1.9+1.10 that can only be found naturally won’t exist in previously rendered areas. So for people to find the new blocks, they would have to travel in excess of 25k blocks in some spots. The end as well won’t have any of the new features as that too has been rendered when we went there to kill the enderdragon. As much nostalgia that may be held up on this world, I think now is the time to reset it and start anew. In addition, adding onto survival, adding a second variant of survival would be awesome. Bringing back Chaos from the old days of BC would be a perfect addition to the server. It would add a whole new element to the survival aspect of the server, and make alliances and secret bases even more important. For those of you who don’t know (most do though), Chaos was a gamemode on the old version of BC (long before arcadia). Basically it’s like any average survival world, but there are no land claims, and no faction claims. Anything can and will be griefed. The emphasis was on making strong alliances and setting up secretive bases. Adding this back would be amazing. -=- DTC -=- With all the new features in the updates will come changes to combat. So in light of that, there are a few kit options that i’ve thought of and or seen from other people that would work very well for DTC. Tank: This would be a complete rework of the current tank kit. The new tank kit would consist of the following: Shield (with respective team color) Full iron armor Iron axe 10 porkchop/respective food items 64 clay blocks w/team colors Bow w/32 regular arrows Iron pickaxe Permanent slowness 1 Archer: Once again, a complete rework of the current archer kit. This new kit would consist of: Bow w/infinity 1 Regular arrow 5 spectral arrows 3 arrows of regeneration 3 arrows of poison 3 arrows of slowness Leather armor 10 porkchop/respective food items 64 clay blocks/team colors Iron pickaxe Stone sword Runner: Remove this kit? It is rarely used and vastly underpowered Melee: Once again, a rework of the current kit: Iron sword w/knockback 1 Leather armor, w/protection 1 Bow w/32 regular arrows 64 clay blocks w/team colors 10 porkchop/respective food items Iron axe Iron pickaxe w/eff 1 Bomber: Another revamp of a current kit (oh joy!) Iron sword Leather armor w/blast protection 1 Iron pick Bow w/flame ench 10 regular arrows 64 clay blocks w/team colors 10 porkchop/respective food items 6 TNT blocks Builder: Remove this kit, once again, rarely used. Support (or some other better name): This new kit will specialize in the support of their team Wood sword Leather armor Stone pick Bow w/16 regular arrows 5 arrows of regeneration 5 spectral arrows 5 arrows of strength 5 arrows of healing 5 arrows of swiftness Elytra wings! 2 stacks of clay blocks w/team colors 20 porkchop/respective food items Ninja: Somewhat the replacement for runner, and also different Wood sword w/Knockback 1 Leather armor Iron pick w/eff 1 Elytra wings! 2 stacks of clay blocks w/team colors 10 porkchop/respective food items Permanent swiftness 1 Bow w/16 regular arrows 3 arrows of slowness 3 arrows of weakness 3 arrows of poison -=- Skyblock -=- Changes here would be a much more efficient NPC shop, like on survival. That way people could build their islands a lot quicker and will stay more addicted to the game (skyblock has kinda fallen off a little bit). In addition, make the nether accessible via nether portals (probs already exists that way, and make end portal blocks purchasable for a very very high amount of money. This may be a bit too overpowered. I mean, I usually use Bomber to rush and blow stuff up, then kill as many people as a can; imagine if I had an iron sword (Currently we have wooden)
Personally I would be sad if survival would restart because i've just started a base there and it took some time to get to this point. On the other hand I can see why people would want a reset. We need a reset to benefit from the new update, but I think that new players would likely play survival in a world where people live with cool bases that show activity on the server. At least that's how I like my survival. So maybe its an idea to create a 2nd spawn people can tp to. Like Jeremy said, the nearest place to get the new blocks is 25k blocks away. Give the players an easy way to get there without resetting the world. Only reset the end and the nether. Just an idea
The only reason why I want Survival to be reset is because whenever I play survival there's like no area to build at all because it's all claimed so that's why Chaos survival sounds fun this sounds like a good alternative to resetting survival

well even though I don't play anymore (I would if it was active) if the survival server got reset rip all the shit I built and the guardian farm nine and I spent 40 hours on. I spent so much time on that world nvm I read that it's not being reset
