So I'm about bricks late from Fan's demotion, but I need to point this out now because BC is in a very awful position right now. Staff is leaving like it's going out of fashion, so we got like, 5 staff. So I really think Fan deserves another shot at mod. I'm going to very clearly and carefully plot out the details below: What did my mans Fan do? Fan was involved in a roast session, which is already making an agreement that both participants are subjecting themselves to insult. However, the insults thrown in a roast session are not to serve malicious purpose outside of the roast session. Fan did take it a little far by committing to a "low blow"(uncalled for cheap shot roast) by bringing in family issues. Knowing Fan, he probably had no intention of hurting the victims feelings, and did not mean anything that was said. Honest mistakes happen with everybody, and he should be able to redeem himself. I think it's really unfair he gets kicked off staff for one mistake. When I was the face of BC, I openly trash talked the admins and other staff without a sense of consequence and I somehow managed to survive 11 months before resignation. Gee, I'm still one of BC's biggest faces and I'm posting naked ladies all over forums like there's no tomorrow and I manage to bypass most of the rules. Why Fan over others? I know we have a policy "Every deserves an equal shot at staff" but I mean, we can't pretend like that it hasn't been altered in the past. We all know it has. So Fan currently stands as the most active player in the server's current state. He is on like, all the fricken time, and not even afk. He's almost always bound to respond to a message, and doesn't ignore very often. I also note him as being one of the toughest players on BC, never getting butthurt when his opinions and beliefs get thrashed around, presenting him as a good candidate for a staff member who knows how to deal with out of line or stubborn players. Fan was quick to learn how to be a proper mod. Despite how much people tormented him for how inexperienced he was in his first month, he practically learned from every mistake, and would've likely learned from the one that unfortunately got him fired. Anyway Fan is a really pleasant person to be around and I really think he needs his place back up on the staff team. And he thinks so too. Also check one of my more recent status updates about staff for even further speculation.

I agree wholeheartedly. Honestly though, I think just randomly repromoting him would be a bad idea (Showing how much power we have), so here's what I recommend: 1. Open Mod Apps (We all know we need them, c'mon!) 2. Promote the BEST staff, not people who's already been staff. (i.e. Square). My reasoning behind this is that if that staff member left/quit/demoted, what's to say the same won't happen again? However, I do seem hypocritical when I say Fan should become staff again. IDK, it's just an idea. 3. Boom.
He was never staff. And honestly @Wordguy just because someone left staff once doesn't mean they'll leave right away again ?
True, I'm just saying that sometimes (Most of the time, from what I've seen), a staff member will join, thinking it's different then when they were staff (Hoping that's it's better or less stressful), and it ends up being the same, or even worse. But it was a poor idea for me to assume that all previous staff members would be bad. Sorry.
My input which is supported by owners is that we do need more mods but ones that don't just leave after a few weeks because they didn't expect so much commitment. That's why we tell you in the mod app announcement that you have to be prepared for the commitment. So when we do open the apps, think hard before you even begin your app if you're prepared for the commitment of at least half an hour to an hour each day. Don't just rush in and quick-write an app in hopes that being first gets you a better chance. There's also nothing really stopping Fan from reapplying.
I'm 100% for second chances so yeah, as soon as mod apps open we'll see what happens. Although I do have to stress Miner's point about how we need potential staff members to be committed for the long-term if we really do want to make any sort of progress this year. The more we can focus on developing the server instead of messing about for weeks with mod nominations, the better. I feel like the most recent mod noms have been much fairer than they were 2/3 years ago, but I accept what you say Napkin. I hope the next round of apps will be totally fair, and I'd like to see that that happens.
I don't know why in the world I had this urge to get Fan back on staff. I honestly do not like him that much. I think he is very rude and intolerant to those who do not fit in with his "Catholic Sensibilities" I've seen him shame those who have a mixed faith in science and religion. I've seen him imply multiple times that he's not welcoming to homosexual players. I've seen criticize Protestantism, Buddhism, Judaism, and Islam without being provoked. FatherFan does not care about you unless you dickride the cross, and that's lame as fuck.
