Before I begin this thread, I don't want this to change what any of you think of me or how you act around me. I am the same person no matter what happens. So, for those of you who read Jeremy's resignation letter, you read that I have something going on in my world outside the confinements of the internet. Yes, this is true, and I decided I would share a little bit of what is going on. No, I'm not dying or anything, I am perfectly healthy... but my father is not as fortunate. Some of you may know that my father is suffering from cancer, and just last Friday, my family and I received the news that my father's last treatment has stopped working. What that means is that the tumor is growing again, which wouldn't be much of a problem, but at this point they do not have a treatment to shrink the tumor any further. So, if you see a decrease in my ontime or even just my mood seems a little off, that is probably the root of it. No, I am not currently planning on quitting staff or the server in general. I thank each and every one of you for your support, and sometimes without meaning to, you brighten my day. Once again, I would like to state that this does NOT change anything about me, I am the same old Dusty. I do not need anyone pity, I am just fine, I just thought it would be fair to share why I might not be on quite as much or not in such a bright mood. Thank you for reading, and have a great day
I knew about this but it was not my place to share it. Dusty making this thread takes a lot of guts, and sometimes it's really tough to open up to people around you. Cancer is something that should happen to nobody. It is one of the toughest things that one will ever have to deal with. I would never wish it upon anyone, even my worst enemy.
I feel you Dusty. I hope you make it through this okay, and know everyone is here for you if you ever need us.
If I knew an bit more about medicine, I would use anything in my power to stop this horrid cancer. Heck, I would try anything. I'm not an doctor though, but that doesn't stop me from dreaming the day cancer is gone.
