Bots on forums are mad annoying and they attack when everyone is sleeping. I have an idea that may or may not keep their advertisements out of the "General Discussion" which is one of the most important thread sections on the forums. SO HERE IS THIS IDEA We can have a thread section labled "Advertise" where they can hopefully be tricked into posting all their crap in there, instead of junking up the feed that actual members of BC use. Why would I think this would trick them? BECAUSE! That's what they are here to do, advertise, right? So, they see a place they are allowed to advertise, they will probably do it. Besides that, I don't think they are capable of outsmarting this "fake thread topic", because judging by the way they spell and use grammar, they are either foreign and using google translate, or just really dumb. I would also like to propose an addition to that, where every thread that is posted in that section is automatically reported / removed as soon as it is posted. Please consider this idea, Your one of a kind magic 8-ball; Napkin.
I lick it, but I think the bots go for the top forum, instead of being able to 'see' and advertise thread. Besides that, it's cool, as it could also be used for people to find each other's YouTube, Twitter, other games, and Facebook!
This sounds pretty good, it may/may not stop the problem though as a lot of the 'bots' are actually real people who may just post it anywhere. Saying that, I like the idea and it would be interesting to see if it would work.
That is the problem. They are actually real humans (that's why they can bypass the chapta protection), so this sadly won't really help.
Yeah but I mean, we could test it and see if it tricks them into posting into that forum section. There's a 50/50 chance it might work. All of them post in the same forum section (general discussion) for the most part, because it is such a broad topic, that it is the simplest place for them to post. Using "Advertise" (or a similar word or phrase) may actually make them post in there. I really think we should test it out for like a week, and if it doesn't work, the forum section would simply be deleted.
