Hello there, for the longest time I have thought about adding a modded survival server to our network. I have always enjoyed playing modded as it offers so much content and so many things to do! I've made this thread to find out how you guys would feel about a modded survival server in general. Regards -Quicksteve
I can just see the player counts flowing in, maybe have the modded server something like Feed the Beast or other mod packs. (I know many players who quit vanilla Minecraft and are now active in mod packs instead)
In my opinion, I wouldn't like to expand to a "modded survival server." It seems like too much of a hassle to install the mods, and keep a balance with Creative, DTC, Normal Survival, Paintball, SlimeRun, and other things. We should fix what is broken at the moment, and then we can think about expanding to other servers.
Nothing is broken. We are only updating. The games that are there currently are not suppose to be functional right now nor are we working on them currently. We are working on the new API and with that - will comes the games w/ the new API.
True. Leo works on the new API and things, and THEN we should consider moving on to different servers, (i.e, modded)
I spent lots of time on modded servers, and they're very fun. But modded survival servers work best in not too big of groups, like a little friendly modded survival. I'd recommend Technic Launcher packs, like Tekkit or Hexxit e.t.c. Very fun, but not when crowded
Vanilla is far better than modded imo. Unfortunately the vanilla-ish server isn't very popular because I know a lot of people looking for those kinds of servers. Personally, I probably wouldn't play modded because I enjoy vanilla more.
I think we shouldn't have a modded server because as fan said, it would be too much of a hassle. While I do want a modded server because I've never played with mods, my computer can't handle such mods (Ex: FTB, OptiFine, etc.). Instead, it makes Minecraft laggier than it already is. Even Optifine made Minecraft laggier.
