When people say they want the old server back, I think they mean the old community; I believe the server is pretty much back to the old days. The only things that are different are the ranks, player count, and plugins- not the old plugins, but they do the same job. There's no way of bringing back the old people from the first Buildcraftia we know. To be honest, I don't really think it would be good to have the admins/mods come back... Sparky and Candy would, well... Anything could really happen. (Don't get me wrong; I'm not just being mean to Sparky or Candy- I was, and still am good friends with them over Skype) Lax and Lux were great builders. Jkftw was a very good redstoner. All of the old staffmembers either have moved on, or can't be here, (i.e. Buster.) and I think it's for the best. All we need is more growth of players, you see... (eh, thought I'd include there may or may not be another drawing of some sort soon, I'm dealing with quite a bit of stuff here. There's a sketch or two laying around, so if I ever get to finishing one of those I'll post it.)
So we should first focus on making the server good with alot of features, minigames etc. (and we'll also need a hub soon, just sayin') and then we focus on new players? Just a suggestion.
I would like to say something. Ok so everyone is like "I like the old server better" but what you guys need to know is technology and times have changed. Why use old API or old plug ins when you can use newer plugins that are better. That is what I have to say to all of the "The old server was better" people.

It's just a bit irritating We're far beyond that now , if you've followed the conversation, you know that we're talking about ways on how to bring in new players in the (near) future, and not about bringing the old server back, because we've decided it's pretty much impossible.
Well yes I know it was mostly about the community but I am talking about the people in the technical side of things.
Oh, for the love of good, can y'all stop fighting as if the world was going to end tomorrow. Honestly, I am sick and tired of this. So many of you are going all "blah blah blah I like older server more blah blah blah," and you know what?! It simply won't ever happen. I would also love to point out that while you all want the server to be better whether it is community wise or part of the technicalities or the player count, all this fighting is literally putting a negative side towards all of these. We all should feel shamed that we show our anger out so easily, I mean c'mon, we are trying to get people and the way to get that is by showing we are friendly and not at all hostile. Jesus Christ. What the hell has happened here, one moment the server is like "Woo, yay, fun, fun, fun," and the next is "hate, dispize, more hate." This is all seeming as if was a Renaissance, and you know what, a renaissance here would be utterly useless. We have the latest upgrades on everything, and the Renaissance in Europe during the 1600s till the 1800s added upgrades to society. We should not be looking into the past where we have no control over, but instead into the future where anything was possible. Lemmie put this straight For me its the community...I also think there are some either useless or stupid plug ins like how Im not sure if its there but when you do /seen (Admin) it is something stupid like 1+ or something. Also there are way too many chat filters. But the rest of the plug ins as long as we have the necessary stuff and not a bunk of junk then im fine. The community used to have a much bigger voice in decisions but now its like Admins are in a tent and people are outside and cant do much. I stated alot of my reasons with the community on a different post. So if you wanna know more go snooping around for it.
What I believed would be a noteworthy place to suggest ideas has become a battleground for slagging off staff and appearing ungrateful. Can we please return to a post where we suggest, rather than rant? I agree that Minecraft has changed a lot, and I agree that the good features the server has should remain. Personally, when I say 'look at the past server and learn from it,' I mean looking at what made the server enjoyable and trying to apply the same tactics, for example: • An efficient staff team who see their role as to have fun & to help, rather than the former (which I remember in great detail) where staff lived in fear of being judged solely on their online time. • Suggestion by word of mouth. The best business is when another person recommends your product. If you have friends that play MC, tell them about BC! • Don't rush into huge projects. A hub is extremely unnecessary for a server with 10-20 players. If the server reached its former standard of 100+, then you'd have grounds to work on additional servers as there's more of an incentive. • I know and appreciate that simply saying 'get more players' is virtually impossible (pun intended). There was a always great talk of advertising on sites such as PMC or related (& I also appreciate that PMC is not as popular as it used to be; just using it as an example). Part of the income (or budget) could be set aside each month for publicity. I'm rushing this answer on my iPhone. I've tried to make my points and back them up with a solid explanation and plan. If anyone feels I haven't done so, please do say and we can work together on a solution. This thread - it feels as if so anyway - is being seen as no more than a rant thread, and I think it would be beneficial to both the player and the staff member if we debated in a mature manner.
