    Why is there a question on the Spring Moderator Applications concerning your rank? Does it really matter?

    I'm guessing you're saying:"They want your money."
    But that doesn't relate to the Applications.

    Well, it could be something to do with how dedicated you are to BuildCraftia? Because someone who buys a rank clearly like the server, and want to stay? However, I have no idea if that's the truth. Just assumptions.

    But alot of people just buy the ranks to get perks, not to fund/help the server.

    It's so we can restore them to their previous rank if we don't grant them MVP for some reason (or if they were penguin before).

    That's what I thought at first, but you could just check that with them when they leave/are demoted, so I still think there's something to do with preferences.
