    We dedicate this day to Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, who "supposedly" drove all the snakes from Ireland, and converted the entirety of Ireland to Christianity, therefore establishing churches that helped the Catholic Church through the Dark Ages. According to legend, Patrick died on this day in the year 461.
