    Heyo all you wonderfull people!

So as you may know , recently 1.8 came out! Which is quitte cool considering the mass changes to the game!

But I've been sitting with a though recently.

When will BC update to 1.8 , and if so, how long would there be downtime?

Just wanted to get a little more information about BC and 1.8

    Bye!

It will most likely take a (very) long time. Since Mojang bought bukkit, a programmer named Weslie Wolfe took down the bukkit and spigot websites for GPL infringement. He has no grounds to do this and it really won't stand up in court, butttttttt it will take Mojang a while to get it sorted out and to update bukkit/spigot.

The server should update to one of those things compatible with 1.7 and 1.8. However 1.8 blocks can't be placed but things like skins and the new optimization might work

Its a thing about open source coding. Bukkit is/was illegal originally because it used Mojang's code without their permission. Mojang simply turned a blind eye and never said anything, but now that Mojang owns bukkit, Wolfe wants the server to be open sourced because it is bundled with his code (he coded 1/4th of bukkit.) He has no grounds however, because bukkit is not part of the minecraft server code.

There is a Spigot build out that can do this, so doing this is perfectly feasible.
