Exactly, Word. AZZAs off, so he cannot do anything, and Leo is working his ass of in coding. I won't talk about Zach otherwise I'll drive you all crazy, and Jessie, while nice and helpful can't even start to do coding. I know this has been said thousand times before, but really, we need to trust the moderators/admins with coding and stuff, instead of just making them sit there and ban people all day long. All the weight is on Leo's shoulders. You can tell he's struggling, and we need someone to accompany him in his work. Then, leo can actually have a break every now and again to refresh himself.

As other people have also said, mods nor admins can't accept/deny anything on the forums, leaving only Owners (once again) to do all the work. I don't know how, but this really needs to be sorted out ASAP. Why can't you owners trust you own blimim' trust moderators, for god sake! You need help, so let them help! I also completely agree with Jeremy. How can we focus on improving our server when the server is barely staying alive! We need to come together, and not just staff, as Miner said, to actually discuss something instead of debating, because what we're doing now obviously isn't working. Soon, the server will die out completely.

Personally, I think most people are being too optimistic. I hate to be the one to darken the mood, but, right now, we can't be focussing on stuff like 'building maps!' and stuff. What we need to focus on is slowly and calmly bringing the server back up to how it was. As I said earlier, the server is literally on the verge of death, and thats what we need to focus on - bringing the server together, slowly, and bringing up.

Everything that's been said about Zach really doesn't matter. He's on vacation not giving even a thought about the server and whats happening, but we can't change that, can we? Think realistically guys. Think about what we can do, not about what we could do if Zach was here, and this, and that - because he's not here. For now, I think we should leave Zach alone entirely, and instead focus on building trust between staff and player, and between everyone entirely. Without trust or teamwork, we cannot achieve anything. We need to give lower staff, and player a voice, and the owners need to here that voice, and listen. As it's been said a million times in this thread, owners are pretty much doing what they want to do, and not even listening to other staff, let alone normal players.

Lastly, I think Jeremy said that eventually there will be no more people willing to become staff, and then we're doomed. I've only been on the server 2 years, and I've never seen the staff side of things, but to be honest, by the sound of it, it ain't that fun. We need new player to want to become staff, we need those staff members to step up and be given more permission and trust, and eventually, just eventually, we'll come back, I know we will.

I know I may not be one to talk, as I'm young and probably not mature enough to understand it from the perspective most of you do, but I think it's important we all share our opinions, so we can all get through this - together.

 

Anyone up for getting a new coder? I know a guy...

 

I do have to agree with most of this, but I do have to say moderators can accept ban appeals and reports on the forums and admins can accept warp requests.

They cant boot the server back up due to it being in the console and if they get access to the console they might as well be owners too

Most us don't know anything about the languages being used to code our plugins, as well as we don't need 15 people editing the code, it's hard enough finding bugs in one's own code, let alone code edited by 15 mostly incompetent people.

It's not like Leo does everything, that's why the rest of the staff exist. Mods and admins take care of the server. Leo devs it and very nicely helps us stay afloat.

We can accept everything except maps, and Leo will soon be teaching us how to implement maps. The owners do trust us, it's just not our job to do server-side things like coding.

Not going to lie, you're over-dramaticizing this. We're not sinking and we're not going to die out soon. To be honest I'm getting a bit tired of everyone saying "omg bc is dying we need to do something", then suggesting no actual ideas whereas leo and azza are advertising for us and have set up 11, count 11 voting sites to help us become more known.

It's not like the staff and players hate eachother. I admit there's a split but that's common in all forms of staff/government. I'm also going to reiterate the point brilliantly stated by Mac some months previously, in that "If you're not staff, you shouldn't need to concern yourself with the issues of staff. Let us take care of it and you just enjoy buildcraftia."

You have a voice as you're stating it here on the forums. That's what the forums are for.

Clearly you weren't here 3 years ago when everyone on the server wanted to be staff.

A rousing victory speech, but if you haven't seen the staff side please don't assume things(e.g. Owners not listening). Staff is actually very fun to be because it allows me to actually make a difference. The only downside is when people become unreasonable and start fights over the smallest things.


Tl;dr: The server isn't dying. The mods aren't not trusted by the owners, it's just not our job to do certain things.

 

Welp, I guess this proves I haven't been staff before XD. Sorry, just from my point of view this is what I see from being a player. As I said at the end, I may of gotten the completely wrong side of this... Sorry! Just my opinion tbh
