Buildcraftia's Staff

I was contemplating whether to post my opinions, and I have come to the conclusion I will:

The staffing for this server needs a serious overhaul. I'd like to also note that players can now clearly see this and, example being this thread, are raising the issue to normal chat. Essentially, what BuildCraftia needs is a staffing team that is packed with suitable staff members who meet the criteria of being respectful, dedicated, mature (with an element that can also be friendly) and who can reserve time for this server. A few extras would also be useful, such as: intuitive ideas and good at community managing to push the server forward. I feel as though our server has stopped progressing due to the lack of owner initiative. Leo is brilliant at making our server but we need the ideas to make, of which we're lacking. Jessie is great at relationships with players yet she, and AZZA, both find it hard to think of creative ideas to push our server. Although Mac is offline (and blaming it on a pathetic excuse-AZZA makes time yet he's serving for conscription), we can clearly see he was great at advertising, producing and advancing this server. Without him, I think that it's noticeable that BuildCraftia is not progressing. (It's clear that he should also be demoted due to his inactivity, but with respect as he's brought BuildCraftia from the vanilla world to now).

Conversely, I believe that the moderators SantaMiner, Kaiziieee and DustyAshton, and the admin: Whis_Terasu, fit the clear criteria of the staffing and should enrol in higher tiers of the staff system (exception of Whis, I personally think that there are enough owners and I believe Kai suits the role of moderator well due to her ability to communicate well and relate to the community). Although PhoenixStudios, Kenreao and TemporarilyAlone are very sentimental member to our community, they simply do not commit enough of their time. This is not to be saying he is 'lazy' but that due to x reasons, he cannot participate. I cannot comment on ChipJelly as I live in a vastly different timezone to her. However, from personal experience, I believe that she doesn't commit enough time and perhaps you could monitor online time?

Essentially, there are 7 members of staff that are currently committing their time- one of whom, works mainly offline. Perhaps we could organise a team that thinks of the new ideas: ways to make BuildCraftia advance further. We can also see that the majority of our players are long-time members and donators - having new ideas would help keep the new members engage in BuildCraftia and become part of the community. As a result of the lack of time they commit, I suggest that PhoenixStudios, TemporarilyAlone and Kenreao are demoted, with great respect, to MVP. In addition, ChipJelly could be reviewed and SantaMiner and DustyAshton could be promoted to Admins. Leaving the Moderator rank with 2 people, there should be an early-2016 moderator nominations to nominate possible 4 people? However, could we review the system for that? Although staff insist it's not based on popularity, it has some relation to it. I propose that the staff members should devise a list of potential candidates for the nominations. They would then be published, and the people selected could create an application. Once made, a TypeForm would be created for us to vote. Results could be reviewed by staff and agreed on, then the future staff members would be selected.

Clear Objectives:

• Review Current Staff (Inactivity)
• Moderator Nominations in 2016
• Possibly an idea group to think of games and other engaging things
• Promotions within current staff

You mean live the obvious favoritism towards me? I mean, he literally said that he could never get angry at me on the day that I left staff.

 

Nonono this was before your time as staff, but if he said that, I guess you are one of his favorites.
