Hi, So I am bored so I am making a thread. I have been watching anime for a few months only and need some more to watch so I made this thread so you can share good ones with each other for people that watch it. I'm going to share my favorite so far. Title: Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) Synopsis: Yukiteru Amano, a junior high student, has trouble making friends. He views himself as a spectator from the sidelines and often writes down what he sees in a cell phone diary. Tormented by solitude, Yukiteru interacts with his imaginary friends Deus Ex Machina, the God of Time and Space, and Muru Muru, Deus's servant. One day, Deus grants Yukiteru's cell phone the ability to record the future for the next 90 days. Yukiteru is then forced to participate in a battle royale with eleven other people, each of whom also have a diary that can predict the future in some unique way. The rules of the game are simple: before the world ends on day 90, the contestants must find and kill all the other contestants, and the last one standing will become Deus's successor. (Btw I just copy pasted this from the wiki it's not mine) Why I like it: I love this show because it was short and sweet, the characters were cool, and the plot is great. The last few episodes are really sad and there's a massive plot twist. The one chick Yuno is insane and a really good killer but really chill for a psycho chick. Yuki, the main character, grows from a wimp who lets Yuno do all the killing to a killing machine that will slaughter his own friends if they get in his way. It's great. Side Note: This show shows nipples like once every two episodes so don't watch it if you can't see that crap. Also it is really gory, not recommended for children. Characters: Here are some cool pics of some main characters. Yuno Yuki Akise (Amazing Character) So if you are an anime fan and havent seen this anime watch it. Also share some good animes with me so I have some to watch.
These are some of my favorite anime that I recommend to everyone 1)Toradora - Favorite anime of all time, love it so much you don't even know, toradora fan drawing has been my phones lockscreen for the past year and a half(The pic is it) 2)Baccano - weird at the beginning but gets better. 3)Golden time - really good at the beginning, kind of flat lines towards the end but good quality anime. 4)kill la kill - quality anime, slightly ecchi so be careful where you watch it. Also really weird so be careful where you watch it. You'll be judged. def do not watch certain episodes outside of the privacy of your own room and if you're below 13 maybe a different anime for yew. 5)Anohana - one of my top feels anime I've seen, not gonna lie, I could've filled an ocean during the last 3 episodes. If you say you didn't at least tear up from this anime you're a liar. If you watch this, I recommend clannad/clannad after story as well. Those are my suggestions anyway
My favorite : STEINS GATE This anime is very unknown to most watchers, and most "top anime lists" don't mention this anime, but when they do, I always see it at number 1-3 or something. Reason? It's well written. GENRE : Slice of life/Thriller/Action 24 episodes long and 1 movie hold the phone there, Slice of life and THRILLER? how the fuck? aka = how amazing the story is. The first part of the story is slice of life, and then the awesome kicks in. Story : So we get started off with this guy who thinks he's a mad scientist named Okabe Rintarou (also Hououin Kyouma). He seems all crazy and awkward at most times, and he's an average internet persona ultimately. This guy manages to accidentally create a time machine akin to John Titor and set off a time bomb of events. An organization notices his message sent through time and begins to hunt him down also, but that part is really tiny so I wouldn't mention it. What this story does right : Theories in use. This is probably the most realistic not realistic form of time travel story I've read in a long time. Uses real theories but with a touch of fiction; They have a microwave that creates miniature black holes to send messages through time, they REALLY REALLY put a bold line under the Butterfly Effect in this series, in ways I cannot say due to spoily spoilers. It's character developement is off the charts. This goes into a bit of spoilery territory, but it shows how stressing time travel can be on a person, and does a fine job on how that stress can change a character completely(okabe) to the point of him (spoiler a bit) jumping in front of an ongoing car. This series also does a good job on making it seem as if it actually is real by using real conspiracies incorporated into the story while also taking place in real areas, which of course wouldn't have much of an affect on people who don't live in Japan.(radio kaikan building, akihabara, etc.) What it does wrong : This isn't a perfect story, and there are some bits where it seems boring. The amount of time it takes to build up to the thriller/action part of the series is pretty darn long. (the end of episode 12 is where it REALLY gets real) and it might get boring, but stay watching because the roller coaster after that is full of whoa. TL;DR : This story is a realistic time travel story, where the first part makes the characters appear more real so that when the story decides to torment everyone, it makes it all the better for feels. I can just go on and on about how cool this is, but the best way is to experience it yourself. And yes, my profile picture is from the movie. also, the death threats that Okabe receives for his research are strange
holy shit you dont even know, the first episode is VERY forshadowing to how the thriller half of the series is like
Some you guys might like: Subbed (Subtitles): Nichijou - A really fun comedy to watch Gotta love the Proffesor Tokyo Ghoul - Really graphic with blood and stuff and good story (Dont watch if you dont like blood and stuff) K-on - About music as a comedy really funny at its moments. Hetalia - Comedy really werid but makes you laugh at the same time gotta love Italy. Black Rock shooter - Very unique and interesting story Dubbed (English): Full Metal alchemist - Comedy with a interesting plot and powers Fairy Tail - Has its moments where it gets boring but after like episode 144 or 143 i suggest you go to subbed because they stopped dubbing it then :I Death Note - Amazing story the first anime I fully watched Attack On Titan - What must i say except Armin is life
Why stay away from Naruto and One piece, they're great. If you're trying to stay away from mainstream anime then might as well not watch aot
I ment I was trying not to share all the well known anime and share some small good ones out that no one might know about
I am the reviver of this thread, worship me! jk Anyways, I am back with another anime to review. Name - Neon Genesis Evangelion It's shit. 1/10. The worst anime I've ever seen. JUST KIDDING Everyone's heard of this one, I mean c'mon. Seriously. This was the anime that brought back interest in the production of anime after a huge pause of no anime's, a very desolate time. What do I even have to review for this, The show reviews itself but ok. STORY :The show starts out ( in 2015) with some 14 year old kid being called over by his super hidden shady dad that doesn't care about him to Neo Tokyo-3, a city that is literally a fortress. His dad suddenly asks him to pilot a giant robot called an Evangelion, since there are things called Angels that are attacking the city and want to do something that includes a spoiler :O, and no one is optimistic about the situation. This story is also based off of the bible apparently. CHARACTERS: The creator of this wrote the characters wonderfully. Each character is an archtype, but that is because of the actions and choices they made in the series to become that. For example, In the TV show everyone slowly becomes more insane as the pressure builds up on them. In the remake movies, it seems to be the opposite. For now, of course. No one is optimistic in the show. Shinji - Protagonist, hates himself for always running away, and hates the fact people only like him because he pilots an evangelion. He is completely disconnected and doesn't like to interact with others, to the point he doesn't even commit suicide because he believes he is completely unnecessary. Rei - A mysterious person that is stoic and barely interacts with others, worse than Shinji. I wonder why. In the rebuild, she slowly becomes more human, which is nice. Asuka - Another evangelion pilot. Keep in mind they are all 14. She is very arrogant and independent because she believes she needs to not rely on others. She has major mommy issues. Misato - The one who decided to take care of Shinji during his life in Tokyo-3. Her dad was killed in the Second Impact, oh no but I can't tell you what that is it's too important, and tries to act optimistic about the situation, and puts all of her hopes on Shinji to defeat all the Things Angels. Gendo - This is Shinji's dad. This guy does not care. Two giant things fighting in front of him and their blood splattering everywhere? Probably shouldn't care. Might he need to evacuate? Of course not, that would be too much caring. He does not care at all, as you can see. He doesn't care that Shinji exists, neither does he care that his wife died because of him. This guy appears coldhearted and evil throughout the series, even in the manga he tells Shinji that he hates him for stealing Yui ( His wife ) 's love from him. And then the movie comes out During the original sequence of events in the tv show, that is how shinji's dad should be seen. However, in the movie they fix him up a bit. At the end when he is reunited with Yui ( but how could that happen?????? ) he tells her that he feared of hurting Shinji by being near him, and thought someone like him should never be loved. Almost makes me shed a tear, if it wasn't for him attempting to kill Shinji's friend when his Eva went berserk. Last note : "What the fuck, I know completely the same shit that I did before reading this" - An anonymous reader that doesn't exist Yeah I know, I was very subtle with explaining the story and stuff, but that's because I can't delve too deep into the story before saying something spoilery, as everything in the show is mysterious. Heck, the whole show is a spoiler. DO NOT skip the tv show and go straight to the Rebuild movies. D O N O T. The rebuild and TV show are two very different things, in the sense that the TV show was the original show that made people think about and still people are trying to understand the plot, and the Rebuild is just an alternate telling where everyone's a little less emotionally broken. That's it. I rate this 8.8/10, taking off some points for repeating soundtrack. The opening is good, but it gave me ebola, so that's a downside. That's it. Why are you still reading.
TF is a weeb? Anyway like I said only studio ghibli; all other amines are super ugly to me. Just watched howls moving castle which replaced spirited away as my favorite.
After a few month hiatus from watching this show I just finished it today and it's a freaking masterpeice. Definately in my top 3. (Sorry for necropost)
This one is probably one like everyone has seen, but here it is, Fairy tail. It's a great anime and it is mostly about magic. It is pretty funny and to be fair, it teaches me ways to act. Good anime, and definite to watch if you haven't
HunterxHunter One of the best shonen animes I've seen... Watch it please. This video basically sums up my appeal towards it:
Title: Sword Art Online Synopsis: A popular virtual reality game turns out to kill you in real life when you die in the game. You follow the two main characters, Kirito and Asuna, through several different games. Why I like it: The plot and concept is very interesting to me. The emotional roller coaster makes you want to watch more. The characters you follow throughout the show are amazing while the art style is truly incredible. Side note: Occasional women taking off clothes leaving only bra and panties. One scene in which a girl takes a shower with a zoom in on the butt and other parts. No nudity by the way. Characters: Kirito: Asuna: Yui:
