The Buildcraftia build competitions are back! Build competitions have been absent for some time now, but since the community showed interest in holding new contests we decided to bring them back. (Thank you Napkin for your continued support!) Now for these contests to work we need at least 5 entries, information on how to enter down below. You can apply until the first of July! The contest will close on July 15. Our first build competition of 2018 starts off simple with a "STORE" theme! Whether it's a grocery store a shoe store or even a sushi store, let your eye for detail show in this build competition. For this contest we will allow pre-made plot themes, not as a prerequisite but optional. We have some new and some old prizes returning for this competition. First of all we are rewarding the winner with a 10$ coupon code to be spent on shop.bcsn.us Along with the coupon code the winner will recieve 100 reputation (worth 10 votes!), 1000 fish that you can spend on various things on the server and the custom "Event Winner" tag on both the forums and our Discord server (You can look at my tags to see what it looks like). Each contest winner will be recorded in our brand new "Contest Winners" warp and of course have the rights to brag about it! Important information down below! Cool but seems a little drawn out. Like we have the theme now but have to wait at least two weeks to start, and then another two weeks for the contest to end.
First of all, I wanted to give people time to think about participating or not, hence the time in advance. (There is also a personal reason that I wont be able to post in the next 2 weeks so that is partly the real reason for it to be drawn out like this) Right now we are still contemplating how long these contests should last but since this is a store theme on a single plot I turned it into 2 weeks instead of a month. This is still a first test competition, to see if any player even wants to participate to begin with. I will change the start date to "after this thread was posted". That should clear up confusion. Even though in my mind it wont be as fair to players who enter in a week. Also thanks for your feedback! We cant improve unless we get support from the community.
Not sure how to "make a new thread in this contest's subforum" . If I create a new thread it seems to be on the same level as this thread. So just putting in an application here to get things started Builder: Lumen Fidei Plot ID -65;76
Sorry if it’s a little ironic that I won’t be participating in this competition. I didn’t expect the server to readily revive the official comps that quickly lmao. I’m busy in the coming weeks but I’ll try to join in on the next one.
Sorry for the late reply! I was on holiday untill yesterday. So to answer your questions: The idea was to have only a single shop, I wanted to do just one to maximize the amount of time you can spend on detailing and decorating instead of making huge structures. The smaller scale gives people who are better at small builds a fighting chance. That being said, you can still fill the plot up with all kinds of details and small additions. But the main focus for the judges will be the shop itself. All texture packs are allowed since I did not specify it, but it must be a texture pack that still upholds the standard minecraft blocks. Aka no packs that, for example, change crafting benches into barrels and things like that. I might change this to default in future contests though, or not, who knows
This is a general notice that the official Buildcraftia Build Contest will close tomorrow. I will uphold a later timezone so people from across the pond will have the most time possible to finish up! So for anyone who entered, make sure you finish your build for judging! -Alk
Congratulations to @Flex for winning the build competition! Flex showed an outstanding amount of detail inside, aswell as outside his shop! Thanks to everyone who participated in this competition, I know there were not many to compete this time around but we hope to have even more contenders in our next build comptetition! We will let you know in advance when the new competition will commence.
