Please note that we do not approve any modifications on request. If you are in doubt whether a modifications is allowed or not, check the categories below. Staff members cannot tell if an unlisted modification is allowed or not, so please read the following thoroughly. Remember that if the modification you are using doing something you are unaware of, you are still responsible. All modifications are used at your own risk! General Rules Any modification that provides you with a significant in-game advantage to players is disallowed. Modifications which alter the way that your client sends data to the server are also strictly forbidden, even if they fall into an allowed category in this thread. You are using modifications at your own risk. Categories for Allowed Mods Client performance improvement modifications (e.g. Optifine) Aesthetic modifications (e.g. shaders modifications) Armor and Effect Status HUD modifications Brightness and gamma adjustment modifications Minimap modifications, provided they do not show additional data such as players, entities or underground cave systems Any other mods that fall into other categories should be considered as disallowed. Allowed Modifications Here are all the modifications which you may use on BuildCraftia Network. Mostly, these are cosmetic, or modifications which show limited amounts of additional information which should not give you an in-game advantage. Armor & Effect Status GUI For example Armor Status, Effect Status, 5Zig, et cetera Client modifications which add armor and/or potion effects to the Minecraft GUI, outside of the inventory (see photos below) are allowed. Note that health indicators, showing other players’ or entities’ health are strictly forbidden. Spoiler: Description and Examples Even though these kind of modifications can give a slight advantage to a player, they still do not affect them physically. They take damage as regular players and deal the same amount to others. Minimaps Client modifications which add a minimap to your GUI (Graphical User Interface), usually in one of the corners of the window. Please make sure you read all the restrictions in this category down in the spoiler! Minimap modifications do offer a slight advantage in-game, and we do allow some basic overground only minigamps, which basically have little to no benefits in the gameplay. Spoiler: Description and Examples Using a minimap modification, means you understand the guidelines listed here and the modification follows the Network Rules. Please note that using minimaps in the BuildCraftia Chaos server is strictly forbidden! If you choose to use a minimap modification, it need to follow these guidelines: Must not show entities (players, mobs, etc), which are usually shown as dots or player heads Must not show cave systems or underground (only overground allowed) Maps with and without entity tracking: Only overground view is allowed: Optifine Client modification which goal is to improve players’ FPS (frames per second). Optifine can be downloaded from optifine.net/downloads Spoiler: Description and Examples Even there might be a slight advantage from using Optifine, the main objective is still to improve player's experience by reducing lag and increasing FPS (frames per second). These settings can be accessed through the Video Settings in the Minecraft Settings menu. Replay Mod Client modifications which allows recording your gameplay and playing it back. Also allows you to change the perspective during the replay, as well. Replay Mod is only allowed in BuildCraftia Creative Server at the moment. Spoiler: Description and Examples The Replay Mod only lets you replay your game-play off from the server, but it can still give players in survival game situations an advantage as it can be used as a form of X-Ray. That's why we're restricting Replay Mod to Creative server only. Shaders For example Shaders Mod, Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders, Karyonix Shader Mod Client modifications which change the visual appearance of the game, adding custom lighting and shades. Spoiler: Description and Examples All the shaders modifications give players more visual experience for Minecraft, and thus are allowed.
